Overview
All .CO premium domains operate on the High-High Premium Renewal model. This means the renewal price (and transfer price) equals the initial registration price — there is no lower renewal rate for premium domains.
What This Means
For a Tier 6 domain ($1,000 registration): every year of renewal also costs $1,000. Similarly, transferring this domain costs $1,000 (the renewal price × transfer period). This is different from many other premium domain programs where renewal rates may be lower than registration rates.
Why This Model Exists
The High-High model ensures consistent pricing for premium domain holders. Registrars and their customers can predict exactly how much a premium domain will cost each year without unexpected pricing changes between registration and renewal.
Auto-Renewal and Premium Domains
If Auto-Renewal is enabled, premium domains auto-renew at the premium renewal price. Registrars should ensure their customers are aware of the renewal cost before the domain auto-renews, as the Auto-Renew Grace Period (45 days) provides a window to cancel if needed.
