Overview
Deleting and restoring premium .CO domains follows the same mechanics as standard domains, with the addition of premium fees for restore operations.
Deleting a Premium Domain
Submit a standard domain:delete EPP command — no Fee Extension is required for deletion. The delete process itself has no special considerations for premium domains.
- Delete within the grace period (5 days for Add, Renew, or Transfer Grace Period): you will receive a credit for the fees paid.
- Delete outside the grace period: domain enters the 30-day Redemption Grace Period.
Restore Cost for Premium Domains
Total Restore Cost = Standard Restore Surcharge ($40) + Premium Renewal Fee for the domain's tier. Examples:
- Tier 1 ($30 renewal): Restore costs $40 + $30 = $70.
- Tier 6 ($1,000 renewal): Restore costs $40 + $1,000 = $1,040.
- Tier 10 ($10,000 renewal): Restore costs $40 + $10,000 = $10,040.
Restoring a Premium Domain
Submit a domain:update command with the rgp:restore op='request' extension. You do not need to explicitly acknowledge the restore price in the request — the system bills the Standard Restore Surcharge automatically and the response will confirm the price. Renewal must happen on the same day as the restore.
Renewal After Restore
- Auto-Renewal enabled: the domain auto-renews at the premium renewal price on the restore day. No separate renew command needed.
- Auto-Renewal disabled: submit a domain:renew command (with Fee Extension) before 23:59:59 UTC on the restore day. Failure to do so results in the domain being deleted again.
