Overview
Transferring a premium .CO domain is similar to a standard transfer but requires the Fee Extension in the domain:transfer command. The transfer cost is the renewal price multiplied by the transfer period.
Transfer Cost
Transfer fee = Premium Renewal Fee × number of years transferred. For a 1-year transfer of a Tier 5 domain: $500 × 1 = $500. This must be included in the fee:transfer element of the EPP command.
Required Steps
- Check the transfer price using domain:check with fee:command name='transfer'.
- Obtain the authInfo code from the registrant.
- Submit domain:transfer EPP command with op='request', including: domain name, period, authInfo code, and fee extension (fee:currency USD, fee:fee = transfer price).
- Monitor the EPP message queue for transfer approval (up to 5 days).
Fee Mismatch
If the fee in the transfer command does not match the Registry's price, the command is rejected. Always check the current transfer price before submitting.
