How to Renew a Premium .CO Domain via EPP

Overview

Renewing a premium .CO domain requires the EPP Fee Extension with the exact renewal fee. The renewal price equals the initial registration price (High-High Premium Renewal model — e.g. a Tier 6 domain costs $1,000 to renew each year).

Required Steps

  1. Check the renewal price using domain:check with the fee:check extension (fee:command name='renew').
  2. Submit domain:renew EPP command including: domain name, current expiry date, renewal period, and fee extension (fee:renew with fee:currency USD and fee:fee matching the renewal price).
  3. Verify the response confirms successful renewal and the new expiry date.

Auto-Renew Behaviour

If Auto-Renew is enabled on your account, premium domains auto-renew at the domain's premium renewal price. The 45-day Auto-Renew Grace Period applies — delete within this window to receive a credit.

Fee Mismatch

If the fee:fee value does not match the Registry's renewal price, the renew command will be rejected. Always check the current price before renewing.
