Overview
The .CO Registry may offer promotional pricing to Registrars at certain times. Promotional discounts are applied at the moment of the transaction, not retroactively.
How Promotional Discounts Work
When a promotion is active and a qualifying transaction occurs, the discount is automatically applied by the Registry system at the time of registration or renewal. The Registrar's balance is debited the discounted amount, not the standard price.
Fee Extension and Promotions
For most promotions, Registrars do not need to modify their EPP commands — the Registry applies the discount automatically. However, for certain promotions that require Registrars to submit fee information via EPP, Registrars will be explicitly informed and must calculate the discounted fee before submitting.
How Registrars Are Notified
The Registry communicates active promotions to Registrars via their registered operations email address. Ensure your operations email is accurate and monitored.
Account Preparation
During a promotion, transaction volumes may increase significantly. Ensure your account has sufficient credit balance before promotional periods to avoid interruptions. Maintain a buffer above your Credit Threshold.
