Overview
Becoming a .CO accredited Registrar allows you to register and manage .CO domain names on behalf of your customers. The process involves signing the Registrar-Registry Agreement (RRA) with the Registry.
Requirements
- Valid business entity with appropriate regulatory standing.
- Technical capability to connect to the EPP system.
- Ability to maintain a prepaid balance for domain registrations.
Process
- Contact support@registry.co to request accreditation.
- Receive and review the .CO RRA Agreement.
- Sign the RRA — no funds deposit is required before signing.
- Receive your Registrar ID and initial credentials.
- Set up your Registrar Console, configure user roles, and establish your IP Access List.
- Optionally test your EPP client in the OT&E environment.
- Fund your account and begin registering domains.
No OT&E Certification Required
OT&E testing is available but not required before accessing the production environment. All Registrars have immediate production access once their account is activated.
Reseller Model
If you want to resell .CO domains without direct Registry accreditation, you can work through an existing accredited Registrar who offers reseller programs. The Registry itself does not directly support a reseller layer — reseller arrangements are between Registrars and their downstream partners.
