Using the OT&E Environment to Test Your Integration

Overview

The Operational Testing and Evaluation (OT&E) environment is a safe, isolated replica of the production .CO Registry system. It uses a separate database, meaning any actions you perform — registering test domains, creating contacts — have no effect on the live registry.

OT&E Access Details

  • EPP Server: epp.ote.registry.co, port 700 (TLS)
  • Registrar Console: https://registrar-console.ote.registry.co/
  • IP Restriction: OT&E EPP is NOT restricted by IP address, making it easy to test from any environment.

What You Can Test

  • Domain registration, renewal, transfer, and deletion flows.
  • Premium domain registration using replicated premium pricing data.
  • DNSSEC, IDN, and Fee Extension implementations.
  • Contact and host object creation and management.
  • EPP message queue notifications.

Important Notes

OT&E certification is NOT required before accessing the production environment. All accredited Registrars have immediate production access once their account is activated. However, it is strongly recommended to complete thorough OT&E testing before processing live registrations.

Premium pricing data is replicated to OT&E, so you can test premium domain flows using the same price points as production.

Getting Multiple Test Credentials

You can create multiple account credentials for OT&E via the Registrar Console, allowing your development team to test independently without interfering with each other.
